Lock Up Your Virgins

The Great Seal of the State of New Mexico

Due to the glorious incompetence of the US justice system Wayne Bent (Michael Travesser) was released from prison.

Just as a reminder, Travesser is the crank cult leader from New Mexico. He set up his Strong City with his small band of followers, did a few calculations, as they always do, and announced a date for the end time, the rapture whatever you want to call the apocalyptic return of christ that these publicity hungry prats are always predicting.

The silly and shallow media did its normal thing as well and did a documentary on Messiah Travesser and his happy family. Well I say happy, but it isn’t clear that they all were. Just like David Koresh and most of the kooky cult clans, Travesser had some specific instructions from god to have sex with lots of the women in his group.

You need to understand that he didn’t want to do, in fact it was quite hard work and rather a burden on him, but when god tells you to do something you just have to get on with it or you are going to end up in the lake of fire and, of course, he didn’t want that.

Apart from ordinary women, god gave him some instructions about seven virgins as well. If you have ever been to New Mexico you will know that there isn’t a lot to do in this mind numbingly tedious place so virgins don’t last to long. You have to find them quite young.

Anyway, one of the naked teenage virgins that came to lay with Wayne was young enough to get him into trouble when he laid his hand on her heart. He was convicted of sexual offences and got 18 years in gaol which was reduced to 10 years.

Wayne, and his son Jeff who has been speaking for him recently, have forgotten all about the seven virgins now and their story is that the troubled girl was 16 rather than any younger. She came to Wayne for counselling which she wanted to take place while she was naked. He placed a healing hand on her sternum while they were lying together on the bed because that was the only place in his humble home where it was possible to counsel her comfortably. Wayne had no choice in this matter. God required him to do it and no naughty thought ever entered his head.

Now Bent is free and his little group of supporters are proclaiming victory. So he is innocent then. A virtuous man after all. Who knows, but the reason he is out of gaol and free to get on consummating in the name of god is that the breathtakingly idiotic legal system in New Mexico did not properly convene the grand jury that arraigned him and his trial has been nullified.

That public safety is entrusted to such idiots in the richest and most powerful nation on earth should be reason to make us all worry. We pass date after date for the coming of the apocalypse and it doesn’t happen. That’s because it is all bullshit and the people decoding the bible with their idiotic sums are con artists. No cause for concern there.

Organising our societies to make them safe from sexual predators and other criminals is a job for humans. Why do we continually fail to do it properly? Sort yourself out America. If there is proper evidence against Travesser. Put a properly constituted court in place and try him. It is an utter disgrace that a possible threat to children should be released because of a technicality.

Nanny State

May 29, 2011

Nanny State is a wonderful lady

Loving and gentle and kind

She makes the wayward fit in with the masses

With drugs that alter their mind

That her love is killing the baby

Leaves her totally blind.

Afghans and Arabs with tyrant oppressors

She saves by having them mined.

Nanny robs folk with all of her taxes

To pay for her to be kind.

The work shy she cossets with cash and fine training

But jobs they leave declined

Nanny robs folk with all of her taxes

To pay for her to be kind

That her love is killing the baby

Leaves nanny totally blind.

She is so terribly kind.

Family fairness index – get out of our lives

December 2, 2010

My first ‘news’ of today was hearing a twerp called Rob Williams from the Fatherhood Institute telling us that Britain is low on his Fairness in Families Index. This is because we don’t have enough paid paternity leave, men don’t do enough housework or spend enough time in child care  and we suffer from out outdated distinction between fathers as breadwinners and mothers as home-makers. According to him this means that we are not family friendly.
Only a few countries like Japan and Switzerland do worse than us on Fuehrer Williams’ index.
I was a pretty rubbish father, but that is a long time ago and as I am now retired I can make a bit of a contribution to keeping the house together, but the idea of ‘fairness in families’ is just infantile twaddle. I am reminded of P J O’Rourke when tired of his young daughter complainging of unfairness said:
“It’s not fair that you were born in the USA, it’s not fair that you have prosperous parents who love you, it’s not fair that you have a warm, comfortable home to live in, it’s not fair that you have a high quality education, health care, safety, friends and masses of opportunity for choices in your life. Shut up or I will start imposing some fairness.”
Of course Sweden came top of Williams’ index. Being a turnip he might fit in there, but I have some advice for him. Wind up your stupid institute Rob and get a proper job. If you stop wasting time and money  by pestering us with this drivel you might have a better chance of some contentment in your own life and that could contribute just a little bit to family happiness.
I suppose I wouldn’t have noticed Williams and his nonsense so much if it wasn’t for the last few days of being told that the government was going to measure the happiness of the nation. I can tell you Cameron & Clegg that what makes me really unhappy is wasting the taxes of a bankrupt nation on idiotic schemes like that. You are providing the perfect breeding ground for The Fatherhood Institute and every other ridiculous parasite group wanting to tell us how to live our lives.

Afghanistan, marital rape, women’s rights, secrecy and fake democracy

April 10, 2009
It has now been reported that implementation of a law concerning family matters for the Shia community of Afghanistan has been suspended after an outcry by western countries about its provisions.
This confused affair exposes the almost complete ignorance in the west of the nature of the society that they are involved in in Afghanistan as well as showing the corrupt and duplicitous nature of the Afghan government.

Afghanistan is a signatory to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and its own constitution guarantees equality of women, but the new Shia law is a viciously reactionary document permitting men to force sex on their wives, confine women to their homes, denying women proper inheritance and allowing child marriage. Karzai has tried to claim that western critics have a wrong understanding of the law because of inadequacies in translation. This is not believable, but if it were true it would be easy for him to dispel concerns by publishing the document immediately rather than keeping it secret. The law was passed by the Afghan government and signed by Karzai in conditions of secrecy which are an outrageous affront to democratic methods.

The Afghan constitution is supposed to guarantee freedom of religion and equality of treatment of all citizens. This Shia law is in clear breach of that commitment and it is reported that work is continuing on a family law for the majority Sunni community. The likelihood is that such a law would also contain seriously discriminatory and retrogressive provisions.

The truth is that Karzai is trying to gain favour with religious extremists and oppressive clan leaders in advance of elections. In this process he is prepared to ignore and contradict all the undertakings he gave to the international community in order to get aid and military support to overcome insurgency. There is no genuine democracy in Afghanistan; its government is corrupt and icompetent.

When the Taleban ruled Afghanistan they were guilty of disgusting crimes. Apart from oppressing women in the most revolting manner they murdered gay people and savagely maimed others in the name of their perverted justice. By giving hospitality and support to Al Quaida they placed the whole world at a much greater risk of terrorist murder than it would otherwise have been. It is right for the international community to have a presence in Afghanistan to ensure that there is no return to such an intolerable tyranny. What must be made clear to President Karzai and his government is that the undertakings given to take their country forward with the establishment of universal human rights and dignity are an absolute requirement and there can not be any backsliding.

Only those who commit themselves genuinely to democracy and progress are entitled to any support. The Shia family law must be scrapped immediately and the constitutional rights of women and children fully enforced for all communities.

Phase Out Child benefit

March 11, 2008

Raising a family is a personal responsibility not a collective one. Child benefit should never be increased or extended for children already born. The benefit should be discontinued for any children born in the future.

A Woman Must Breast Feed a Male Colleague to Work With Him!

January 25, 2008

The system of fatwa’s, or religious instructions, within Islam, reached a new height of absurdity when an Egyptian lecturer issued a fatwa suggesting that women employees could only work alone with an unrelated male colleague if they brest fed them at least five times.

In May 2007 Dr. Izzat Atiyya, lecturer at Cairo’s Al-Azhar University, issued a fatwa that suggested that male and female colleagues could use breastfeeding to get around a religious ban on being alone together. The fatwa said that if a woman fed a male colleague “directly from her breast” at least five times they would establish a family bond and thus be allowed to be alone together at work. “Breast feeding an adult puts an end to the problem of the private meeting, and does not ban marriage,” he ruled. “A woman at work can take off the veil or reveal her hair in front of someone whom she breastfed.”

Despite impeccable precedence for the ruling within Islamic law (as discussed above), the fatwa sparked outrage and embarrassment, with critics deriding the author on Egyptian television. The University later suspended the lecturer, who headed the university’s hadith department. The fatwa was widely publicized by Arabic-language satellite television channels and was discussed in the Egyptian parliament. After being threatened with disciplinary action by the University, Atiyya issued a retraction, saying the fatwa was “a bad interpretation of a particular case” during the time of Muhammad and that it was based on the opinions of only a minority of scholars. Egypt’s minister of religious affairs, Mahmoud Zaqzouq, has called for future fatwas to “be compatible with logic and human nature”.
