Bah Humbug

Jesus, what is this all about?

Just cost and family rows.

Useless presents, tasteless tat,

shops so full of crowds.

A decorated pine tree

and a fat, old man in red.

A dry and tasteless turkey,

and crawling, drunk to bed.

The stable was for donkeys.

That’s how it should have stayed.

Three weirdos with their trinkets

were best sent on their way.

For some it’s saturnalia.

It’s solstice too, for sure.

Borrowed from the pagans,

let’s give it back right now.

I actually like this one! By the way, those three “weirdos” weren’t believers, just open-minded individuals seeking knowledge. Turned out they were right. And as for the pagan fun-fest that is X-mas, (I never use Christ’s name in association with the word) it’s a heap of bullshit that any true Christian should avoid… it’s more for atheists with no morals to hinder their downward slide to extinction as a ’species’.

The pseudo-religious pagan draws my ire far more than an atheist ever would. Atheists are only hurting themselves, whereas pagans have a vendetta against God and Christians, and the fallout from that war effects everyone, religious or no.

As for X-mas, I gave it back 25 years ago. I have nothing to do with it.

The three wise men were astrologers. A pseudo science with pagan origins.

It is not just Jesus who called himself the Christ. There are lots of those. There is no need to be precious about the word.

Pagans cover a huge range of beliefs. I don’t think most of them have any particular antagonism to Christians. One thing that is common to most religions is that they believe that they are the only ones who are right and many, including Christians, are antagonistic to every other belief.

Humans have had festivals from the earliest of times. The winter festival that is now called Christmas by Christians is far older than Christianity. It is just one of the festivals that the Christians tried to grab for themselves with the false claim that Jesus was born then. It is the same as the way they took the spring festival and tried to attach it to the execution of Jesus rather than the fertility festival that Easter was before.
